It’s located in Punta Umbria municipality and it’s composed by 162 hectares. This is a forest composed mainly of juniper, species in shortage in our coast, as well as many other plant species which are representative of the Mediterranean.

The site hosts an interesting diversity of fauna, among which is the chameleon, whose range is quite restricted. It’s also possible to find some reptiles and passerine birds among other species.

Marismas del Odiel are among the municipalities of Gibraleón, Aljaraque, Punta Umbria and Huelva. They result from interaction between Odiel river dynamics and the input of sand of the Atlantic Ocean. This area has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO and hosts the largest breeding colony of spoonbills (Platalea Leucorodia), 30% of european population.

The Reception and Interpretation Center of Calatilla provides information about land and sea routes for visitors as well as a route network that show a surprising richness of flora and fauna.

It depends on the country that you come from.

If you are a citizen of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein: you need a passport or a current ID card. Under 16 year-olds can be included in their parents' or guardian's passport, when they have the same nationality as the passport holder and they are travelling with them. If you come from any of the following countries: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Republic of Korea, San Marino, the Vatican, Singapore, Uruguay or Venezuela you need to present your current passport, which will let you stay in Spain for a maximum period of 90 days.

If you come from any other country, and in accordance with the criteria established by the EU, you must apply for a visa at the Consulate of Spain in your country of residence. It will also be necessary to present your current passport. If required, you must specify the reason why you are coming to Spain. If the Spanish authorities deem it necessary, they may ask you for a document that proves where you are staying, the booking confirmation of an organized trip, the return ticket or the tourism circuit ticket, or the invitation from a person. They also may ask you to prove that you have enough financial resources to keep you while you are in Spain.
